I took my dog to the vet today.
His collapsed lung has healed nicely and no surgery will be needed. He's only on pain medication for one week and will make a full recovery.
I'm beyond relieved to be able to post this. I went from being seconds away from signing papers to surrender him to the shelter, to sitting on my living room with my dog sleeping at my side. Thanks to all of you who showed support.
Posting here really helped in calming me down. Thank you reddit.
