I grew up with a pair of cats and they were outdoor cats because of where I lived. They've since been gone for a few years, but I'd like to get another one, both for companionship, and to kill/discourage vermin.
However, I feel it would be cruel to go from the freedom of being allowed to live in nature, to living indoors in a city. What would be the best course of action here? Adopting a cat that grew up in the nearby city and will theoretically adapt back to indoors life after a short while living free range?
