My whole life I’ve always done what my siblings wanted to do (my sister and I still live together in our late 20s in a rental). We live in the Pacific Northwest, and ever since moving here, I’ve had allergies to pets. We got a wiener dog because they are good adult dogs and the breed we got has very short hair. I don’t sneeze at all from him, and only occasionally get grass rashes from his paws. No biggie! Well, she’s always been chill about people bringing their dogs over. This year, we had a high pollen count and our grasses have caused me a lot of problems. I’ve tried expressing to her friends that this is a real thing for me, and I’m not getting respected on it. I need them to please not have their dogs in my house. I am having a hard time understanding how I’m in the wrong to request this. Somehow, I seem to be “offending” everyone with my request. I need suggestions on what someone could say to help. The person I’m really approaching on it is trying to make her dog a therapy dog because she herself causes her kid anxiety.... 🤦♂️ I just want my allergies as much gone as they can be, and my space respected!
