I am 19 and I have a pitbull, Rottweiler, blue healer mix. She's a psychiatric service dog and she is also a rescue. You can tell that she's been abused in her past because of her reactions to certain things. She's the sweetest thing in the world and would never hurt anyone. When I try to clip her nails she freaks out. She doesn't bite or nip but she goes into the pitbull death roll and thrashes about to the point it's impossible to hold her. Bribing her with treats doesn't work. Im only 19 and she's my complete responsibility. I can't afford to take her to a professional groomer and I don't want to traumatize her. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep her calm enough so I can trim her nails?
