Tips on locating a stray kitten?

A kitten (looks to be around 6 weeks old) came to my house 2 days ago while I was at work. My younger sister was "too scared" to grab him. When I got home, I spent a few hours trying to locate the kitten but eventually gave up. Later that night, I went outside and I resorted to fake meowing. Almost immediately, I got a response from the kitten who was in my neighbors yard. I tried to lure him in with food + toys but none of it worked. I (once again) gave up and figured I would try the following morning and left food + water out for him. Yesterday morning, most of the water and food were gone so I figured the kitten ate it. In hopes of locating the kitten, I began to fake meow and he actually showed up!! Unfortunately, as I approached him, he went over to my neighbors so I was unable to grab him. He doesn't appear to be feral though. Anyways, fast forward to today, and no sign of kitten. He is no longer responding to my meows. I also caught a much larger cat eating the food I left out ..I'm now convinced kitten never went anywhere near the water/food. I feel as if though I've searched everywhere for him and I'm at a complete loss. He's a baby and he probably hasn't been eating or drinking. Perhaps he is no longer responding to me because hes too weak to do so? I'm afraid he won't be able to make it because he's so small. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Any tips on how I can locate a stray kitten? All help is appreciated.
