Was taking my dog for a walk today and during the walk his back legs slipped from underneath him and he fell on his left side hard like he slammed the ground a little bit later on the walk and he fell in his left side again. He’s now super sore and can barely walk. He’s gained some weight(52 pounds) but I can’t get him to loose it because he gets sore if he plays to long.
Like for example the other day I was playing fetch and tug of war with him in the back yard. And the final time I threw it he went and got it and then was excitedly running back to me when he all of a sudden layed down before he got to me and refused to move because his joints started hurting to bad I couldn’t pick him up so I just sat there with him for awhile until he finally was able to walk to the back door.
Is this normal because he’s getting old? Like arthritis or something? or could it be something serious? I feel so bad for him. If it could be something serious I’ll try to convince my parents to take him to a vet. Or I’ll save up money myself and drive him there. He’s been my best bud ever since I was way young and seeing him hurt like this makes me sad.
