I inquired to adopt a cat from a local animal shelter but they told me I can’t adopt yet after 6 months since the virus stays in the surrounding in that timeline.
My question is, I searched that distemper virus of dogs doesn’t affect cats and their cats in the shelter are all vaccinated. My other vaccinated dog also approached my dog who had distemper but nothing happened to him. Basically my other dogs aren’t affected by the distemper.
Is the shelter right for stopping me to adopt?
