so I just adopted a cat, she's roughly 8 months and she is driving me absolutely nuts.
I have to play with her 3 hours a night for her to not go after my hands and feet or wake me up at 3am with her zoomies. This is also after a whole day of me being home just trying to work, if I leave she sleeps bc she does not want to entertain herself.
I know a lot of people will bring up health questions but I've just adopted her and I feel like they would have let me know if that was it. They mentioned she was energetic but to be honest I feel like it was downplayed.
I feel horrible for saying this but I got a cat bc they're more independent than dogs, if I knew she was going to take this much work I would have just gotten a dog.
is this normal? Im really hoping this is just bc of her age and not a permanent thing. This is my first time owning one but I've known lots of cats. I'm very concerned about the future with her. I'm currently at my dads place but Im probably going to move out soon by myself and will have to leave her for at least 8 hrs a day. Will she mellow out eventually?
Oh also, she apparently does not do well with other cats....
