My dog tested positive for heartworm yesterday. Vet says they would like to start a heartworm preventative immediately and then start injection treatment 30 days later. Im reading conflicting opinions as to whether that the preventative is actually a good thing after the dog has already tested positive. I trust that the vet knows what they are talking about but just curious if anyone else has thoughts or experiences with this?
