I am 17 year old and we are one day away from putting down our dog, he is very old and has lived a good life full of fun experiences and happiness.
I’ve had him by my side since I can remember, some of my earliest memories were him and I physically don’t know how to go on without him constantly wanting to get under the covers with me, or waking me up at 7:00 am to go outside, or barking at me when i’m not paying attention to him. He’s old and is in pain, arthritis in is hind legs (which we have him on meds for) recently he’s gotten a chronic ear infection and old dog vestibular, the vet said it’s time to put him down and the moment i heard those words I broke down, i just don’t see how i’m going to get over this. people with a similar experience, how do i cope and grieve with this?
