I am slightly aggravated over a parrot situation.

I am normally a dog person. Yet, I had a Frenchie. I had almost 10 years with him and he was very crazy. I gave him a great live and believe we had a quite the bond. He time passed in March of last year from Cancer.

As I did not end up having kids, I just like having an animal around. As much as I loved my Frenchie I would more or less not recommend them as pets...as I'm sure that's another post. And it was too soon in my heart to get another dog. And oh boy, he was high energy.

In addition, I need to have an ortho surgery. I didn't go through with it at the moment, I will soon. I did not want the responsibility to have to worry about the dog as I do not have children and I am single. They of-course need interaction and walks.

I admit that I watch animals on youtube. I saw parrots and thought they pretty unique yet I have not had pet experience as an adult.

I originally saw a Hahn's Macaw on the Petland website. I should have looked on birdsnow. Anyways, I called to ask if I could see him. They did not inform me that the male had an injury and would not be able to be sent home.

I saw a pink bird (a rose creasted Cockatoo). I could not make up my mind. Then I played with both. The bird did not know me and fell asleep on me. The staff was saying, "Oh my god, I have never seen her do that." Being that I'm a sucker, I went with the Cockatoo.

She was a hard girl to get to know. I have interacted with her and made time to bond. Once she did, she wants attention... a lot. Which is great, though if you can't at that moment she will do a few annoying behaviors. Overall, she's a great bird.

I am partial to male animals due to the fact that I am female. Some people believe in this, some don't.

I think males bond more with females.

I really wanted a male.

If I don't pet her, she will bite. And I need to travel once in a blue moon. Can I take her with me? Absolutely. Though I need to pack her cage in the SUV, etc...

I entertained one of two notions.

1) Getting her a play mate. She seems so interested in birds on the internet and I have taken her to the pet store to pick up supplies.

or 2) I'm sorry to say this because I know how some people are. And it would be the first time that I've done this. I did place an ad up for her. In hopes that someone in the family is home or they have other playmates for her to be surrounded with.

As she is only a year old, I placed her for 25 percent off.

This man has contacted me

1st- Wrote me a message asking me if I can come down on the price. Although I have written in the message "This is the price. Do not price negotiate with me." The bird is a year old. I did pay a lot for her as I stupidly went to Petland. I ignored his message.

  1. He then messages me again, then calls me. I pick up, as I didn't realize it was him. The man seemed like a nice person. Yet he asked me about price. I said I could probably come down a few hundred dollars, though that's it. I told him what I paid for the bird. I then receive a message that reads along the lines of, "Well, my offer of 2k stands. I can in all reality buy a bird for much cheaper when they are in season for much less." I just though.. "WOW, BUDDY... you do that."

  2. Calls me again, I just deleted the message.

  3. I come home and see a message. "My offer of 2k still stands. Would you consider if I gave you a 14k gold necklace?"

If I need to go over the road with the animal (as I said before) I can bring her with me and she is a quiet bird that will not attract attention. I just want her to be happy.

Although I try not to be a mean purpose or start trouble...

1) Taking care of birds is NOT cheap. Yes, she eats seeds. They like variety. They need toys. They can break things. If you are gong to haggle me. If you are that cheap, then you should not contact a person again or look into birds.

2) I have been in business for myself for over 10 years. If someone tries to haggle, No.

3) Are people carrying their craziness from Corona into pets?

I don't want to start though I seriously think that some people need to hear to act normal . The sad part is that this man is 61 years old and I feel should know better than acting this way.
