My shih tzu went to the groomer today and the groomer said there was about 10 fleas, gave her a flea bath and put topical treatment on her. I bought 6 months of topical treatment, and will continue treating her. She’s the only pet in the house. I vacuumed all of the carpets and washed all of the bedding, and curtains in my bedroom where she is 95% of the time. I bought flea house spray that claims to kill eggs and such. I honestly don’t know if the house is infested, but I read that if there’s one flea that it can be a problem. I just have questions about how to fully remove all of the fleas. 1. How often should I wash all of the bedding? 2. How often should I use the spray on the carpets? 3. If I called an exterminator will that kill the eggs and prevent hatching? 4. How much of the rest of the house do I need to worry about? She spends almost all of her time in my bedroom, but she does travel through other areas of the house.
