I fostered a feral cat about 2 weeks ago, he had never been in a home before.
I used my bathroom as a safe room he has only just started leaving the bathroom. but only at night -
He spends all day sleeping in a box, he will poke his head out occasionally but never really leaves until late at night.
If I give him food in the morning he won't eat it until about 10pm. So I have just started feeding him once in the evening.
He will only really play in the bathroom from 8pm onwards if I encourage him but won't leave until its dark.
He will only explore the rest of my apartment at night time when the lights are off, however, my apartment is very open plan and the bathroom is the only separate room.
The past few days he has woken me up zooming around and meowing through the night.
I'm not sure if its because he still isn't comfortable in here yet or because he is used to living a nocturnal life.
I worry it will take him a very long time to fully adjust to living in a house and also to feel connected to me if he is only awake at night.
I also don't want to be woken up all the time!
Anyone have any thoughts on what I can do?
