A crappy rant, don't read.

I've been asking my parents for a dog for years, YEARS, over half a decade. And when I started working I told them I could fully provide for and take care of my dog, even saved up money for shots, toys, spaying etc. They kept telling me 'no' that I didn't need a dog and that I should just play with my sister's dog if I was bored.

Well I wanted a companion. I get anxious and lonely very easily and it's hard for me to get attached to someone and let them go, so becoming attached to my sister's dog was a bad idea in the long run. Seeing as I may move out in a few years.

Well, the neighbor's dog had puppies and he's older ( and dying of cancer) and he couldn't do anything about it so the responsibility of rehoming them has been placed on me. So I'm taking care of and rehoming these puppies and their mother when my parents finally agree to let me keep one.

My little buddy is amazing, he's playful but can relax when I'm busy, loves to snuggle, go on walks and drives. He's also learning basic commands very well. He makes me smile every time I see him and whenever I'm anxious or have a panic/anxiety attack coming on he will plop down on my lap or snuggle up to my leg and I can't help but relax.

I haven't been this happy in ages and I just really really love him. The last few years sucked, I struggled with so much and didn't care about anything anymore. And having my pupper around just the past few weeks has brought back my smile. I feel love and happiness and I just want to give him the best life possible in exchange for the joy he's brought me.

He's currently sleeping on my bed, next to my legs and just having him there makes me happy. I love all the little grunts and squeaks he makes while dreaming and feeling him snuggle in closer.

Sorry for my boring little rant, I just had all this happy emotion and needed to express it and this is my only safe space to do so, so.
