i moved into a new apartment yesterday and of course, my cat is struggling. last night he kept me up til 5 am with his crying, and it seems tonight will be the same. i have tried playing with him, but he refuses. i’ve given him lots of pets and attention, which calms him in the moment, but as soon as i stop, the crying starts. now i’m just over exhausted and need to sleep. he’s really only eaten treats here and there, but he’s finally drank some water and used the litter box, so i feel comforted that he’ll be okay, just needs to adjust.
would it be totally horrible of me to pop some earbuds in to get some sleep? i feel like i need to stay awake to comfort him but i also need to take care of myself.
