Hello guys!!
I’m currently pregnant and In my first trimester to my first baby.
We have a cat lexi who is 13 years old and is a proper little lap cat, she’s usually sitting on one of our laps and since becoming pregnant more and more on my belly. I’m not too worried about her being aggressive, we’ve had friends who’ve had babies and she’s mostly curious goes for a sniff and a head butt but removes herself out of reach if she’s getting irritated by toddlers trying to pull her tail.
She sleeps with us, all the time, even if she gets fed up of us moving in our sleep she’ll leave for a bit then come back an hour or two later for a cuddle.
Obviously it’s not safe for us to leave her unattended with a baby in case she by accidentally smothers it, but should we stop letting her sleep in our room altogether?
My thought being If were all asleep and she goes for a cuddle with the baby we may not notice her sneaking in the cot.
But she’s clearly very attached to us and loves a good cuddle, I don’t think my heart can take hearing her cry outside the door (which she does on the rare occasions weve locked her out for alone time)
