Local vet told Chewy I need to mail in a prescription

I thought it was odd that my Chewy prescription order didn’t arrive within 2-3 days from my auto-ship date (insulin and prescribed food for my senior dog), and then today I found an email (from last week) stating that my vet wants me to go to their office in person to pick up a paper prescription and mail it to an address in Kentucky?????? I’ve been using Chewy for insulin and prescription food for almost a year because I work 45 min from home, but I’m in close contact with my local vet and see them every month or two. Picking up insulin/food from my local vet meant taking 1-2 hours off from work every 3 weeks, so I switched to Chewy and just had the vet fax over the prescriptions.

Is this request normal? Or is my vet upset that they’re not getting my money???? With the delay in USPS mail, I doubt that Chewy will receive the prescription before I run out of insulin. And will they ask for me to go in person and mail a paper prescription for my dogs food as well??? My dog is my baby and I just want her to be happy and ok, I’ve literally spent thousands of dollars per year since she was diagnosed (at least 1/3 of my income) to make sure that she was happy, healthy, and not in pain and I just need to know that I can continue to support her!!!
