I have two kittens that will be 1 year old in July. I have my really expensive TV, soundbar, and all my game systems hooked up in my finished basement, and my cats basically follow me wherever I go in the house which is fine, but when I want to sit down for an hour of gaming after working all day, that's when the issue starts.
My one cat is perfectly fine and he just chills with me on the couch, but my other cat is jumping up on top of the TV stand pawing up at the tv, biting the soundbar, going on the second level of the tv stand where all the game consoles sit, and walking on top of them, and trying to lay between them blocking the vents. When he does this I yell his name in an angry tone and get up off the couch to either pick him up off the top of the stand, or nudge him out from the second level. The annoying thing is that he does this almost every 30 seconds or so, so I cannot really even play anything cause I am getting up off the couch every 30 seconds. At this point I have at least got him to recognize to immediately jump off the top part when he gets on and hears my voice yelling at him.
But I am not sure what to do to curb this behavior completely. his brother does not do this at all so I am not sure what the issue is.
I have cat towers for them, even got almost a $100 one and have it practically right next to the TV stand, and yes they both use it sometimes, but he still does this. I really can't use a squirt bottle because of all the expensive electronics there either.
