Training tips

Morning all,

I had the opportunity to adopt a blue heeler pup (approximately 8 months old) at the shelter.

He is a really good boy, and as the breed shows is WICKED smart. But I find myself struggling with a few key training issues. Specifically not jumping up on people, barking/guarding the property from EVERY sound and worst of all the leash.

Any resources that could be recommended? Training classes for me and him are not in the near future financially unfortunately. We done really good work on sit, stay, his kennel, and fetch/drop.
