Okay, so I have a female German shepherd that is almost 3. Today she was outside with me while I was barbecuing and another dog came running up to my fence that wasn’t on a leash and she was freaking out, jumping on the fence and barking. Her hackles were raised (Ive never seen her hackles raised ever) i just assumed she was being protective of me and her yard. She is well trained, she knows I am in charge. Example I go outside first, she follows. I am her leader which is how it should be. I am not strict with her in any way I never raise my voice at her, she knows when she did wrong and I am upset. I did not act upset in anyway because I don’t want to correct that behaviour as she was guarding her territory.
Now to my actual question - My cat was about to jump up on the computer desk to get a burger my girlfriends little brother left there, and she was growling at him and her hackles were up! Should I be worried about her? Is she becoming aggressive? What is the best way to correct this?
