I am planning on adopting a cat in the next month. This will be the first cat I’ve ever had. I have a four-year-old who will be in the house on weekends, and I work a full-time job.
I’m looking for a “young” cat (as the shelter pages list it), not a kitten but not elderly either, and I’m looking for one who will be ok with being alone for most of the day while I’m at work (and ok with my kid).
What are the things I should know/do before actually adopting one, and what should I have ready to go before I bring them home (other than the basics like food/litter box/etc)
