After they got divorced, I moved to an apartment with my mother and sister. We brought along a small kitten since it wasn't much trouble and later got a dog too.
But the older cat we had was left behind (my mom didn't want to take him) and he still lives in the old house... ALONE. The house still is owned by my father, who no longer lives there but still passes by to feed him.
Once a week, I go to the old house to visit my boy, but I know this won't last. Eventually, it will be put up for sale and then he will need a place to go.
But I really don't want to lose him. I can't just give my cat away after 10 years together. I don't know what to do.
Today my mother offered to let me bring him to our apartment, but... I don't know if that would work.
He's been an outdoor cat most of his life and only stopped doing his little trips when he got older. I don't know if he would adapt to being trapped in an apartment.
