Available legal actions?

Hi folks,

Ok, I've got a situation going on that I need some advice on. I have a shared dog that my ex-wife and I got when were married. After we divorced we shared the same house (long story there) and both got to spend time with the dog who we both love and wanted to enjoy. We've both since re-married, and are living close together, but our personal relationship has gone to shit, she states that we're no longer friends, and she shouldn't be forced to see me so I can spend time with the dog that she claims "I never wanted". She says its HER dog, even though both of our names are on the adoption. For the longest time while we were divorced she stated several times that she would never do anything to keep me from seeing the dog. Well that's changed.

I wanted to see if anyone knew the best way to proceed? I know that in most states pets are considered property, and there wasn't anything in the divorce paperwork that mentioned the dog at all. Is there anything that can be done? What would you all do???

Thanks.
