After several weeks of diving into this topic head first, I have stumbled across some conflicting information.
On the one hand, there is the thought process that in rare cases, Lyme disease can progress to a level where it then "attacks the kidneys", causing the kidneys to fail.
On the other hand, there is the thought process that in these same cases, the pet was already predisposed to kidney failure, and that the Lyme disease was simply the thing that pulled the trigger.
As a pet-loving community, where do we fall on this spectrum, and how does this stance impact diagnosis and/or treatment?
