When I got my Beagle he was just a puppy and I was living a relatively hermit life style, I didn't go outside much and I worked at home. Fast-forward 8 months later, I now work downtown which is a 30 minute drive from where I live and work 8 hours, 5 days a week. After he realized that my absence is going to be a reoccurring thing, he wimpers when I change out of my comfortable clothes that I wear when I'm at home and he understands that when I'm wearing something else I'm going to leave. I hear him in the halls when I leave my condo and it just makes me sad thinking about throughout my shift. The only thing I've got is occasionally letting a friend dog sit once and awhile but he still hasn't gotten use to my schedule and it's already over a month.
