It took a lot of time and effort for my cat and I's relationship to be how it is. She cuddles with me all the time and runs and cuddles with me when I call her name. Truthfully it took over a year of learning her behavior and personality to get to that. But I'm the only person she does this with and I live with a lot of people and it feels good. I dont care that other people think my cat is mean. She loves me for whatever reason and we cuddle together all the time. And she isn't a cuddler with anyone. Hard work pays off guys. Learn your cat's personality and she will learn yours. We are best friends now and that didnt take a day. It took a long time. I feel like I've never felt closer to another animal before because I never had the experience of learning and trying to fit my life with hers.
I'm gonna be honest there was a point where I didnt like her but i was so determined to be her friend and one day we clicked. And because of both of ours determination we ended up loving each other as dumb as it may sound. Everyone sees her as a mean kitty but every morning I wake up with her next to me and she cuddles with me as soon as I wake up. It's a blessing. It took a long time but I'll always be thankful that it took work on my end to make it happen. Nothing is quite so satisfying in making good friends with someone who isnt human and somehow we understand each other in our own wierd ways. She is my first pet and will always will be so special to me because I took the time in getting to know her. Because cats are different. They arent bred to love you, they choose to. And we both decided to give up our differences and we both learned to respect each others boundaries and now we are bonded for life for it.
So dont give up on the "mean cat" learn her ways and one day you'll be best friends with her. It took me a while but I'm forever thankful for it.
