My Boyfriend Lives in an Apartment with a Husky

My boyfriend has a 2 year old husky and he has had him since he was a puppy. He lives in a small apartment and usually works everyday for 6-8 hours. While he's at work, he keeps him in a kennel. Most days, the only exercise he gets is a quick circle around the apartment building to go to the bathroom. Like I said, the apartment is small and he really has no room to run around and play without bumping into things. My boyfriend always says he feels bad about it but has made no effort to make the situation better.

Today, he told me that he is planning to move into a townhome in the same apartment complex that is just a tiny bit bigger. I told him he should try looking for a house that has a yard and I offered to help him. Rent is pretty affordable in our area and I found a few houses that were the same price as the townhome would be. I also found several houses that were around $150 more a month, but were really nice and had big, fenced in yards.

Long story short, I tried to talk him into considering one of those houses because what he is doing is not fair to his dog... AT ALL. Basically, his response was: "my needs have to come before my dog's. he's a pet. i give him food and water and a companion. better than most dogs." I'm shocked he thinks this way. We went back and forth a few times but at this point I can't think of anything to say to him that wouldn't involve a lot of bad and mean words.

Does anyone have advice on how to approach this? Some facts about huskies and how much activity they need? ANYTHING PLEAASSEEE
