I got a stray a few months ago, and after quite a bit of back and forth with my boyfriend we agreed to name him Larry.
At first, my boyfriend thought he was deaf because he wouldnt react to anything but loud noises. After I few days he started to listen and respond to me when I talked. He knows "Come on" "Lets go" "Come here".
He doesn't like treats, so I can't encourage him with that. I try to call his name all the time especially when I'm petting him or when he comes up to me but, it's still not clicking.
I know it's not super important for him to know his name right now, it'd just be nice since he will come running if I call out "come on".
Any tips on how to help him learn? Or should I keep waiting for him to eventually figure it out?
