I have a 4 year old tom cat. Right now he lives in a house with my parents and I and he is the only pet. We used to live in an apartment with my ex and two younger female cats (who he interacted with fine) and he's been near my old neighbors male dog before, but he's never lived with one or really interacted with one. Next spring I'm moving into an apartment with just him and I, and I'd like to get a dog next fall, but if he can't handle a dog, I won't get one. It would absolutely crush me to have to surrender a dog I brought home, so I want to know how I can see if my cat will be okay. He's pretty chill, but cats are obnoxiously unpredictable. Is there any way I can find out ahead of time?
