hi there! new cat mom here. i just adopted a 3 year old male cat. he’s very precious and loving. my biggest issue (and i know it’s been less than 24 hours) is his incessant meowing. it’s almost 6am now and i’ve been up for three hours trying to get him to stop meowing. i adopted him as an emotional support pet (which frankly he’s doing the opposite-this feels like post partum depression). I am housed in a dorm at uni and he keeps meowing at walls or the door like he’s upset he can’t get through? is this something i need to wait out and hope gets better? i have closed him in my bathroom with the litter box and the cardboard box they gave me with his towel from the shelter. he is STILL meowing. am i not being patient enough? is this ok? did i make a mistake?
