Okay, so I got a new kitten 2 days ago and he's so cute and perfect. But, he hasn't eaten since he's got here. At first I thought it was related to being scared and being in a new place but it started to worry me because he was underweight already when I got him (his ribs are literally sticking out). I tried giving him wet food and dry food, separately and mixed together, smashed up and warmed up. Nothing worked, he just isn't interested whatsoever. I even tried rubbing a little on his nose and mouth to entice him. Nope, nothing. Anyways I read from various articles that I can try to feed him low-sodium chicken or beef broth. I didn't have anything in the pantry besides Campbell's creamy of chicken soup. I put maybe 1 tablespoon and mixed it with his wet food, added some water, and warmed it up in the microwave. And omg, he actually started eating it!! I'm ecstatic because I was afraid that he was going to starve himself.
Anyways my question is, can I just keep adding a spoon of that stuff to mix with his food and some water to entice him to eat? Or is it not healthy for him and I should just consider other flavor of food or the low-sodium stock? I hope it's okay because I'm only adding a bit to his food to boost the flavor and I water it down a little so it's not too sodium rich. But please let me know if this isn't okay and if there's any alternatives I can try. Thanks!
