My aunt recently passed away and I knew she wouldn’t want anything to happen to her cat so I took it in. He was pretty shaken up (as expected) and stayed under my bed the first few days only coming out to use the litter box or eat. Days went by and he never came out. One night he was sitting by my door so I went to sit by him and he came up to me, let me pet him, and started purring. I was so excited about this but the next day he started hissing at me when I approached him. Just looking for advice. Should I block off the under part of my bed? Should I keep giving him space? I’ve never had a cat behave like this, any thoughts would be really helpful.
