Hi guys, so at the moment I am trying to decide as to whether I should get a bunny or a leopard gecko as my ESA for college. I am currently living in a dorm at college, in a 2 person room with my roommate. I have the ability to keep either pet at college, since my therapist is willing to write me a letter for an Emotional Support Animal. I am not really sure which animal I should get, and the pros and cons to each one. As for concerns about the bunny's living situation, I have the ability to loft my bed, and have the entire space underneath the bed for the bunny, and I also have classes only until noon, so I would be able to give the bunny attention the entire rest of the day so it wouldn't get lonely. I also could let it run around my room, and bring it for walks inside the dorm itself. If I am going to get a bunny, I am planning on adopting it from my local shelter (which I have been involved with since I was 7) and make sure that it is litter trained and spayed/ neutered. As for the leopard gecko, I have a tank already (which I can return if I decide to get the bunny) and I have the ability to turn the heat on in my room, so even with the heat mat it would not get too cold. The only concern I have with the leopard gecko is that I would need to bring it home for holidays, and that might get stressful for the animal, and also I would like to be able to hold it during the day without stressing it out. The concerns I have for the bunny is whether it will get smelly, or if there is any way to combat that. If anyone is able to help me out choosing the right pet, it would help a lot, thanks!
*** I also have access to hay, since my roommate rides horses at our university's barn, and I have access to veggies through my school's dining hall
