Our cat is 11 and a half years old and over weight. Starting on Thursday of last week we noticed a change in behavior. She stopped eating and drinking for the most part and wasn't really using the cat box. She started mainly staying under the bed...not coming out and acknowledging when one of us came home...or just laying out in the living room with us. Sunday morning she started shaking and vomited.
At that point we took her to the vet. They found no issues with her blood work and all her tests came back fine..just that she was a little overweight. She came home later that day...little woozy from the sedation but pretty much back to her old behavior..even started eating and drinking again.
My girlfriend went to work and I had the day off today. The cat is now displaying the same type of behaivor that led us to take her to the vet in the first place. Called them up and they suggest we bring her back in which looks like we are gonna do.
Any thoughts as to what is going on? The environment at home is as it has always been so it isn't any type of stress issue as far as we can tell.
