So I rented my apartment through renters warehouse, and the unit was advertised as cat friendly. The unit belongs to a private landlord who is very hands off, but during the rental process, our realtor told me that the landlord wanted to discuss the pet deposit. I informed him that we weren’t ready to take the cat yet but we would in the future.
Now, six months later, I just got my cat and I asked renters warehouse to add the pet deposit. They are now saying that the owner does not agree do my request and I can’t have the cat. I feel that this is misleading and false advertising. Though it states in my lease I can’t have a pet without the owner approving, he previously approved and wanted to discuss details and pet rent, which I have in writing.
What do I do? I’m so furious and don’t want to be separated from my cat. She’s old and doesn’t have much time less. This unit was advertised as pet friendly and I don’t know what to do.
