I adopted a "Great Dane-French Mastiff" mix in February. I knew not to adopt a baby puppy, but I was in a bad place.
As he grew, I came to realize that French Mastiff the rescue showed me a photo of was not his real dad. The trainer says terrier, likely wire-haired pointer. He never sits still. He doesn't snuggle because he's everywhere. He's almost 1 and hasn't slept on me since February.
I was crying tonight, racking sobs. (No real reason but depression. This happens and I have made an appt to adjust my meds, no worries.) Anyway, he came to comfort me. He was so gentle. And now he's fallen asleep on me and his one paw is on my shoulder and smells like cornchips and it is so soothing and I'm so grateful for him. I haven't been under a sleeping puppy in soooo long and I really needed this.
I hope you're having a nice night. Or day, if you're elsewhere.
