Cat won't eat unless I'm in the room with them

I've had this cat for just short of a year now usually, when I feed them I can just get on with what I have to do around the house and they'll just eat. But lately I'd turn around from my work and find them sitting by my desk just minutes after I fed them, too quick for them to have finished their food, so I'd check and their bowl is still full. I'd point it out to them and they'd go right back to eating but as soon as I turn around, they stop again and follow me. When I stay with them and in their line of sight, they just keep eating until they're done.

Is there something possibly wrong that they need me to be with them when they eat? Could they be developing some sort of attachment thing or is this healthy? Basically, is there something wrong that I should take them to the vet or am I doing something wrong that I need to fix?

Thanks.
