I’m currently a sophomore living in my parents house with my sister and we own a dog and a cat. Our cat’s name is Maximus and we’ve had max for almost 9 years, and I’ve grown to love him. He sleeps in my bed over anyone else’s every night and seems to like me the most. But recently, max has gotten really viscous and unruly. My family and I had to take apart our whole couch, clean each cushion multiple times over the course of a week, then put it back together all because he couldn’t stop peeing on it, and he keeps attacking us, scratching us to the point of bleeding. It’s really odd because he’s only started peeing everywhere and attacking everyone over the past few months. My parents are seriously considering giving him away and I really, really don’t want that to happen. Please, what should I do to stop my parents from giving Max away? All advice is welcomed. Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this.
