Cat Behavior Issues

So I've had my cat now for almost 3 years, and she'll be 4 in June. On some levels she's a really good cat who doesn't destroy things or go to the bathroom outside of her litter box.

But my problem lately is it feels like she's becoming more aggressive and I don't know how to deal with it. If you pet her for too long (aka, any amount of time she decides) she'll just totally go after your hand with full teeth and claws out. She hates being held and if you held her she'll attack your face, again with full teeth and claws. Hell, I'm honestly scared to even have her on my chest laying down, because she'll be so happy, then if I scoot up she freaks out and attacks at my face so I no longer trust her to be on my chest and just pet her when she's next to me.

She's not an evil cat, and I understand the not wanting constant affection and love, but I need her to stop attacking people so viciously. She's honestly a really social cat, but its embarrassing when guests see her, pet her, and randomly she flips out on them meows and attacks their hand with literally no warning.

I know not to react violently as that makes it worse, but I don't know how to deter this behavior. The only times I react violently is if she attacks my face and that's out of panic reaction because she doesn't hold back and I'm worried she's going to claw my damn eye out.

Most the common issues of aggression don't seem to be the case here. She never shows sign of fear or warning signs before attacking, there are no other pets in the house, she does shows affection and trusts the people in the house. She doesn't hide constantly or show any signs of stress, she's fed on a vet diet and has plenty of water and space to roam around. My only theory is that maybe she was bored, but even if I play with her for multiple hour sessions in the day it does nothing or seems to almost make it worse as she's just riled up constantly.

Any advice on how I can deter this kind of behavior in a way that is non-violent? I'm at my wits end, but I don't have any plans to get rid of her. I just want to correct her behavior. Thanks in advance
