I just got a dog yesterday and so far I've kept her separate from my boyfriend's cat who has never seen a dog before. This morning I put the dog on a leash and let them see each other. The dog comes from a home with cats so she's used to them and was excited to see him. This made it worse cause she wanted to play with him and he was terrified. I don't know what to do to ease them into a tolerance of each other. Also, this morning, my cat attacked me for the first time ever. I was putting him in the bedroom to let the dog out for a minute of free roam. When I was carrying him in there, he turned around and scratched the shit out of my face. I just tossed him on the bed and closed the door. I have never had him hurt me purposefully so I'm not sure if this is going to work but I really want it to so any advice is appreciated!
